Name: Andrew
Gender: Male

Interests: I like busty girls with long hair and nice smiles. I don't judge by looks, but that doesn't mean I can't like them that way. I have two passions in life: martial arts and electronics. One I do for a living, one I don't. I'll leave it to you to figure which one is which, but I will tell you this: The result of my work helps save lives. I also play bass guitar... on occasion... and poorly... which is why I don't say I play bass guitar. I also don't say I play the piano, I try to make it sound tougher, you know... I play the, uh, synth background. I also don't say I'm in a band, mainly because it's not true. I will never admit that I played the flute in grade school, even though I did because my band teacher told me I would get to sit next to cute girls (and he was right). That's all beside the point, though. The point is that I come here and write randomly because I get bored easily.

Hi

Hello.

Friday, September 25, 2009

Are you getting the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine?

Absolutely not.
We're creating superbugs with unnecessary and excessive use of vaccines and antibodies.  As we 'immunize' ourselves, we're inadvertantly 'immunizing' viruses and bacteria also.  Unless the vaccine is for something deadly (and I mean 'deadly' as in it could kill a healthy person, not 'deadly' as in someone is sick and dying already and they die two days sooner because of the infection), I don't believe anyone should get a vaccine.

But no.  Let's all panic.  Let's all go get H1N1 shots.  The few viruses that do survive the immunization will return next year, tougher than this year, making us sicker.  Then let's panic again, but doubly so because now we're running out of options to vaccinate ourselves.  Somebody save us!

Toughen up.  Don't get a flu shot (ever).  Don't bring your kids to get flu shots (ever).  Flu shots do two things:  make us weaker and make viruses stronger.

What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from a stranger?

"I looked at myself in the mirror, then I looked at my son.  I remembered when I was his age.  Getting this old seemed to take forever, but thinking back on it now, it seems to have gone by so quickly.  When you look into the future, a day seems like a year, but when you look into the past, a year seems like a day."  - Some guy at a high school event who hadn't said anything to me all evening, randomly turned to me and said that, then smiled and walked away.

What were you doing when you first heard about the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I was sitting in physics class just before class started.  Another student came in the room laughing, saying the Twin Towers had just fallen.  I thought he was joking (he was laughing).  The teacher flipped on the TV and we spent the rest of class watching the news.  We saw the second tower fall.  Most people were watching in disbelief, some were crying, some were scared, but I was angry.  I wasn't angry because I felt my country's pride had been offended, I was angry because I knew how many innocent people were pointlessly dying.  These terrorists, these religious brainwashed idiots, these fucking cowards were taking thousands of lives simply to make a statement.  The utter disregard for life was disgusting.

I wholeheartedly support our war on terror.  The war isn't about retribution against terrorists, it's about protecting innocent people.  We're not doing this to kill terrorists, we're doing this to make sure terrorists don't kill anyone else.  This isn't about death, this is about life.  We live in a county built on tolerance, but how much should we tolerate?  If we can protect good people, if we can make a difference, why wouldn't we?

Did you get into and attend your first choice college?

Yes, I did.
It turned out to be a huge mistake.  I dropped out after one semester.  Now, after seven years of careful consideration, I'm going back to college with a much clearer idea of where I should be going and what I should be going for.
